FRENCH STUDIES SECTION

A Francophone Environment
The teaching and learning of French follow a structured curriculum with clearly defined general and specific objectives for each class.
We achieve our pedagogical and educational goals through:
Implementation of a 4-hour-per-week programme for Grades 1 and 2, and a 5-hour-per-week programme for Grades 3 to 6.
Cross-curricular connections between subjects.
The use of modern technological tools (interactive whiteboards, digital materials and e-books)
The gradual development of the four core skills: listening comprehension (compréhension orale), speaking (production orale), reading comprehension (compréhension écrite) and writing (production écrite).
Dedicated speaking lessons from Grades 4 to 6 to strengthen communication skills.
Experiential activities designed to familiarise pupils with using and communicating in French.

The promotion of French as a vehicle for culture
Pupils also take part in the official French State language examinations administered by the French Institute of Greece: DELF A1 scolaire et junior (Grade 6) and, gradually (from 2022–2023), DELF A1 prim (Grade 5) and DELF A2 prim (Grade 6).
Cooperation with the French Institute of Greece (IFG) and participation in the Francophone competition. Co-organisation of the French-language Film Biennial. Implementation of the project “Vive le Rugb(y)ilingue!”, which includes the creation of a rugby team and training sessions led by Greek and French coaches.
Participation in European programmes (Erasmus+).
Communication and collaboration with schools in the La Salle–Ursulines network in France.
