English curriculum

ENGLISH
FRENCH

English in our school starts early, in early infancy! Our young learners are introduced to the language for the first time in a fun and creative way.

We first aim to help them develop control over the basic muscular system,

followed by coordination of the secondary muscular system.

They become familiar with the sounds of the English language

and gradually develop listening comprehension and oral expression — learning to greet, talk about colours, numbers, clothes, toys, and food.

Daycare Centre & Kindergarten
English begins early, in the preschool years, with the same objectives — taught creatively and through play.

Primary School
English is taught through an enriched three-hour weekly programme from Grade 1 to Grade 6.

Experiential learning is supported by modern technological tools such as interactive whiteboards and e-books.

Students are introduced to presentation techniques.

Middle School – General High School
Students gradually develop their comprehension and production of both spoken and written English.

They learn to communicate and express themselves freely in English — orally and in writing — through dialogues, essays, and interdisciplinary projects.

They participate in the Cambridge University English language examinations (Young Learners – Primary 5)

and in the international Kangaroo Global Linguistics competition (6th Grade).

Students gradually develop the right foundations to continue their language learning in secondary school and to take the Cambridge diploma exams.

The work of the English Department in Middle and High School focuses on:

– the full and effective use of teaching time and human resources,

– structural and grammatical training,

– the development of communication skills,

– the acquisition of language certificates,

– and the cultivation of a mindset of continuous growth in the use and mastery of the language.
